A significant highlight of the Singapore Hawkers' Seminar and Awards 2024 was the debut of the Favourite Hawker Centre Award, determined solely by public votes. This category honours hawker centres that serve as beloved communal dining spaces, offering not just great food but also a deep sense of connection and belonging. Serangoon Garden Market is the award’s first recipient, reaffirming its special place in the hearts of the community.

On 9 September 2024, CEO Mr Edy Tan had the distinct honour of being named the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year – Environmental Services category winner. He is one of four winners announced this year, selected by an independent judging panel from over 80 nominations. The award is given in alignment to the four globally benchmarked criteria, namely entrepreneurial spirit, growth, purpose and impact. With Edy’s drive and willingness to embrace innovation, it has helped propel CTM’s impressive growth over the years.

CTM recently collaborated with NTUC as part of the PW Mark campaign to produce a short video shining the spotlight on our workers at our Material Recovery Facility (MRF). The PW Mark is an accreditation scheme that recognises eligible firms, such as CTM, that pay progressive wages to lower-wage workers.

As a PW Mark accredited company, CTM had the opportunity to work closely with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to produce a short video promoting the PW Mark campaign and showcasing the day-to-day work routines of our dedicated workers at various sites.

On 28 Nov 2023, we were honoured to host our guests from the Tripartite Workgroup for Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangement Requests (TG-FWAR) at CTM HQ. The hour-long visit was fronted by Minister of State for Manpower Ms Gan Siow Huang alongside TWG Co-Chair - NTUC Director of U SME and U Women and Family, Ms Yeo Wan Ling, and SNEF Executive Director, Mr Sim Gim Guan.

Our Annual Lunar New Year Dinner was held on 31 January 2020 at the Bliss Restaurant in Changi. Aside from the dinner, we witnessed and congratulated many long service award staff ranging from 5 to 25 years of service. The staff also had loads of fun with games and fantastic lucky draw prizes!
